Libyan gov´t spokesman: PM released by former rebels

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan has been released hours after being seized by gunmen. A Libyan government spokesman said Zeidan has been set free and is on his way to his office. He added more details of the operation of getting the prime minister back would be disclosed soon.
Ali Zeidan also tweeted after his release. He said he is fine, adding that if the aim of the kidnapping operation was for him to present his resignation, then he won’t resign. A former rebel group loosely allied to the government, the Revolutionaries Operation Room had kidnapped Zeidan in a hotel, claiming they were acting on the orders of the prosecutor general.
Libya’s Justice Ministry has denied the claim. The militia, which had been hired by the government to provide security in Tripoli, was angered by the US capture of a Libyan al-Qaeda suspect, known as Abu Anas al-Libi. It accused the government of allowing the US raid to happen or even colluding in it.
