Miss Philippines crowned Miss World 2013
So close but not quite! Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shootner takes the 3rd position as 23 year old Megan Young representing Philippines is crowned Miss World 2013.
In a glittering affair in Bali, Indonesia, the US-born contestant beat 126 contestants for the crown.
Megan Young, who is studying digital media, promised to be “the best Miss World ever”.
Megan who also presents TV shows in her home country wore a beautiful embellished nude-coloured ball gown with silver embellishments.
She wept as the Miss World sash was put over her and the crown placed on her head.
Miss France Marine Lorphelin came second in the contest and Miss Ghana Naa Okailey Shooter took third place. Miss Ghana is our African Queen.
Unfortunately Nigeria’s Anna Ebiere Banner didn’t make it to the top 10, but will continue her role as a MBGN 2013. She will also perform all her roles.
The finale was moved from Jakarta to Bali, Indonesia, after extremist groups protested against the competition.
