According to reports a man that inherited his late father's house sets the house ablaze over non compliance of the tenants to pay up their rent. The man in question,Idemudia Obamwonyi is now in police custody.According to eye witnesses, over 20 shpos in the building located at Iwebo lane behind Oba martket in Benin city,Edo state were razed. A resident in the area,Ifalyi Obasogie confirmed that man set his house ablaze and stooped people who attempted to put out the fire because he claimed he was not getting rent from the tenant,''We saw people holding him and he was saying let the house burn,I don''t get any money from it.''

An apprentice barber,Samuel Edet was on Thursday sentenced to 42 years in prison for robbery.. Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya found Edet guilty of robbing an aluminium technician Adewale Elelo of his Nissan pathfinder on Febuary 21,2012. The judge sentenced him to 21 years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit robbery and another 21 years for robbery. According to the judge the sentences will run concurrently without an option of fine. During the three year trial,Elelo testified that the incident happened on June 15,2012 between 10 and 11pm Elelo said; “I was returning from a C & S Church after a revival when, at St. Paul Street, on Agbado Road, leaving Toyin Bus Stop, the second street by the left, I saw a black Jeep waiting ahead of me.
